Infrastructure
Beginning with temporary construction on 7 May 1997 to a well built infrastructure was a hard task to build a mountain out of a mole hill. On road land was purchased in village Bassi Gujjran- Dholran on 29 Jan 1998 with the name of Malwa Rural Education Society (Regd.) Chamkaur Sahib. The village folk did an appreciable task of levelling the land. Foundation stone of this institute was laid down by S. Gurmeet Singh on 13 Mar 1998 of Jattana. His selfless service was to provide cement required for construction.
Inauguration was done by Dr. Tarlochan Singh Kaler and the ceremony was headed by the then education secretary Smt. Surjeet Kaur Sandhu I.A.S.
S. Amar Singh Tung Science Block
Science block had become an integral part of the construction during foundation of the institute with strong determination for establishment of this institute, finance was a major obstacle in our path.
At the time of inauguration we requested Amar Singh and his son to announce capital donation in the name of rural development. He donated a sum of Rs 1.25 lakh to the institute. In return the managing committee declared the science block’s name as ‘S. Amar Singh Tung Science Block’.
This science block is the heart of institute. This science block has well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories. Besides educational classrooms, it also has an office, library and staffroom for teachers.
In near future this marvellous building will become science education building with good look and studious environment.
Hostel
(A) Inspite of being a Rural Institute hostel facility is provided to the students and the teachers who come from far off places.
(B)Girls’ hostel is situated at Chamkaur Sahib with required facilities.
Library
Library is an important part of school.It has a great stock of books to make students aware of their heritage,culture,traditions ,developing literature and new scientific researches.
Daily Newspapers,monthly magazines are provided to the students.
Canteen
Spacious and hygienic canteen works according to the staff and students requirements.
